January so far...

Bill brought home some Larva snacks for the brave kids.

Look how nasty! They looked so gross, and they looked very juicy, too.

Like the time Bill brought crickets home for the kids to try, Mason was staying the night. Mason ate the crickets last time and so he tried the larva as well. We still owe him, and the other two kids $5 each. That is what Bill offered the kids who would try them. Rebekah, Justin and Nathan (and myself) were not enticed by a mere $5 for eating a larva! *gag*

But Lily always likes money and she is usually the only kid who will try weird things and so she followed suit after Mason. To my surprise, the larva sounded crunchy, now squishy. But still,
Rebekah, Nathan and Justin (and myself) were still not convinced....

Here is Bill, not happy about the fact that the Mason and Lily tried one because he always says that if one of the kids try it then he will as well. He was more scared to try these larva than he was to try the cricket....

Rebekah finally was swayed and decided to try the larva. But she didn't want to try the BBQ flavored ones (that is pictured above), she wanted to try the cheddar cheese flavor.... um, yeah, like cheddar cheese flavored larva will make it taste any better....
Even after those 4 tried the larva, Nathan, Justin, and myself did not cave and try them. We would probably throw up.


The first Saturday of every month, Home Depot has a kid's club activity. It is free and the kids get to make fun stuff. Here is Rebekah and Lily making wooden football helmet bookends. They got to screw the pieces of wood together (with some help from me).

When the kids are done, they get a certificate and a pin. The girls were so excited to get the pins to go on their button board! Oh and they were supposed to get little Home Depot aprons like the workers get but the workers said they have been on back order for months, so maybe in February they will get theirs. They can't wait! February is a girly project: a heart trinket box!
