Things I Never Thought I Would Say Before I Became a Mother (or Wife)

I am copying an idea my friend, Jana, came up with on her blog. I am going to constantly keep adding to these as I remember more, so stay tuned:
(updated with newest at the top)

"Bill, don't bite Nathan!"

"Bill, is that Jell-o on your shoe?"

"Lily, your butt is not a sponge!"

"Put down the pig!"

"Get off Ronald and lets go!"

"Look at me. Do I look like a shopping cart?"

"Don't milk your father's nipple." (long story LOL)

"No, you can't have a cat, even if you keep it in a box in your room."

"Don't fart in your brother's face!"

"Rebekah, you don't have nuts."

"Don't eat the margarine!"

"Who clogged the toilet?"

"You can have a cookie for breakfast tomorrow."

Justin Justin Justin

I just LOVE this kid! He is a plethora of obscure comments. He has NO filter from his brain to his mouth.

Just in the last three days he has given me three big laughs.

On Saturday, I was making rice crispy treats. I had some of the remnants of the concoction on the wooden mixing spoon. I took it to Bill in the living room. As I fed him some and withdrew the spoon, a string of marshmallow goop swung down and splatted on his goatee. I told him, "Sorry, some of it got on your goatee." Justin, who was sitting on the floor in the living room, looked perplexed and asked, "Daddy has a goatee??"

On Sunday, we were reading scriptures as a family. It was my turn to read and I was reading out of Ether. I got to the part where it talks about the brother of Jared seeing the finger of the Lord. Bill said, "And the Lord said, Pull my finger." We all laughed and Justin leaned over to me to look at the scriptures and innocently asked, "Where does it say that?"

Now this beautiful Monday morning, he once again treated me with a good laugh. I was standing at the kitchen counter making the kids' school lunches. I told him there were Go-gurts in the freezer and he could go pick one out. He walked over to the freezer, picked one out, and as the freezer door closed he said, "Hey, they are frozen."

I can't wait to see what off the wall comments he will make again tomorrow! He is on a roll! :)

You know you are getting older when....

You know you are getting older when....

You go from habitually picking your zits
to habitually plucking gray hairs.

Starting the morning off with Justin Jargon

I just love Justin. He makes me laugh. This morning I turned the radio on as the kid were getting ready and I was doing the dishes. Justin came in to the kitchen and told me, "This is one of my favorite songs." I smiled and asked him, "Do you know who sings it?" He looks at me and says, "No. But I know it's Green Day." I burst out laughing. He cracks me up.

Rebekah's Mind at Work

I was at Laurie's house on Sunday. Jayla wanted to share some candy with the girls. After Rebekah finishes her candy, she said, "I finished my blowhead."
Laurie and I looked at each other, stifling a laugh, and I said, "Honey it is an airhead, not a blowhead." Laurie chuckled and said, "Airhead and blowhead are two completely different things." Thankfully Rebekah didn't ask what that difference is.

And just today, Rebekah told me her tummy hurts. The way she described it, I thought she had a UTI, so I asked her if it hurts when she pees. Rebekah, ever trying to incorporate new words she learned at school into her everyday vocabulary said, "No, when I pee, it is refreshing."

I tell you, between her and Justin's funny sayings, I am never at a loss for a good laugh.
